Networking Business Professionals

Suburban Network Group was founded in 2006 by a group of local business people who had previously participated in several other networking groups, both local and national.  Born in response to the highly frustrating environments found in those other groups,  SNG members are committed to each others success while enjoying each others company.  In short, we have fun doing business!
Our Mission Statement

Guidelines for the Group:

1. Guests (a person who represents an occupation not covered by the group) are free for the first breakfast meeting but will be required to pay $10 for the second breakfast meeting.  The fee for the first breakfast will be paid by the SNG budget.  The guest will be introduced by the member who invited him/her at the first meeting but doesn't give a commercial.  If the guest attends a second meeting, a commercial is required by him/her.

2. The committee will vote to accept the guest as a new member after the guest has attended two consecutive meetings without being more than 15 minutes late for each meeting.  The prospective member is required to meet a committee member to discuss the rules of the group prior to acceptance. The decision will be announced by e-mail or at the next meeting depending on when the initiation and dues are paid up front. A new member is required to pay $50 initiation fee and the first month's dues before or at the first meeting of becoming a member.

3.  When a guest becomes a member, the member who invited the guest will receive a free month of dues as a referral fee valued at $25.  The free month will be honored only if the new member has paid the registration fee and dues in addition to attending the meetings on a regular basis.

4. A commercial is required by each member at every meeting except for the week of the visitation.  The commercial is a short presentation about the member's business that shouldn't be more than one minute.

5.  If a member can not attend a meeting, you are encouraged to bring an employee or partner of your company to represent you at no charge. Your commercial will be presented which may result in a good lead.

6. A member is required to pay $25.00 membership fee each month that will cover breakfast, gratuities, tax, missed meetings, advertising cost, community network meetings, and social events for the group.  If your partner or employee attends the meeting with you, he/she is responsible for paying the $10 breakfast fee because they are not considered a guest.

7. Each member should be specific with their occupation especially if two people from the group have the same profession.

Examples :( attorneys, investment planners, insurance agents, financing)

8. If a member from the group has conflicting issues with another member and cannot be resolved between them, a meeting will be scheduled with the committee to discuss the issues.

9. The attendance will be reported by Rob Kallish at every meeting. If Rob is not present, another committee member assigned by Rob will take the attendance.

10.  The treasurer of the group is responsible for managing the funds and fees owed for each member.  If a member becomes delinquent, the treasurer will notify the committee to decide if the member should remain in the group.

11.  A Visitation is required by each member once per month. It is a one minute presentation exchanged by two members of the group. The VP of programming will assign two members via e-mail who have not met before.  The two members should plan to meet or talk over the phone to discuss about their profession and be prepared to give a presentation about each other at the next assigned meeting for visitation.  If a member doesn't make an attempt to meet or call their assigned partner, there will be a $5.00 charged against that member.  A guest will not be assigned to give a visitation speech until he/she is voted into the group.

12.  VP of programming will e-mail at the beginning of each month a list of members who are assigned to a 5 minute presentation about their business.  The VP of programming must be contacted immediately if you are not available.

13.  Each person should attend 4 out of 6 consecutive meetings in a calendar quarter to remain as an active member of the group. The member has an option to invite a representative as a replacement for attendance on any missed meetings and to give a commercial about the member's occupation/business.  The representative will be the acceptance as good standing for the member's attendance.

14.  Inactive members who are interested in returning to the group under the same occupation are required to pay a $25.00 fee to reactivate their membership.

15.  The Suburban Network Group will be cancelled for inclement weather if the Bensalem School District #758 is cancelled. The information can be found on the local news channels 6 and 10, AM radio channel 1060, or contact a committee member via e-mail or phone.

16.  Members of Suburban Network Group can nominate officers for the committee on the first meeting of every October.  The members will cast their vote on the first meeting of every November.  The new officers of the committee and their responsibilities will begin January 1 for one calendar year.

17.  Eligible nominees must be in good standings (fees current and faithfully attends meetings) for 6 consecutive months based on the review of the existing committee members.

18.  Each member is responsible for paying their monthly dues on time.  If you become 60 days delinquent, your membership will be suspended until your account is current or have made alternative arrangements with the treasurer.  While on suspension, you are prohibited from attending/participating in the regularly scheduled meetings. If you become 90 days delinquent, your membership will be automatically terminated and your vocation will be available to any new member.  However, you may be reinstated under the same occupation subject to guideline #14 (i.e. reinstatement fee of $25.00 will be assessed should the occupation be available).

19.  Each member is responsible for bringing two guests in a calendar year.  The committee members will be monitoring policy.

20.  Current members of SNG in good standing will have the opportunity to change his/her occupational position if a previously held occupation becomes available due to resignation or suspension of a member.

      A.  A $50.00 fee will be assessed for a position change by a current member to a new occupation position within the group.

      B.  If more than one current member in good standing requests a change to the same newly vacated position, a majority vote by the general membership in attendance at the designated meeting will decide who has the first membership right to make that change.
